 POLAR BEAR DIP FOR THE CURE • Jan. 1 Polar Bear Dip for the Cure
Celebrate the new year with an exhilarating swim at the 6th annual Polar Bear Dip for the Cure. Dip to be held starting at 3:00 pm at Charles Mill Lake beach are off Ohio Route 430 near Mifflin. More than 300 people participated last year with donations and proceeds for the benefit of the American Cancer Society. There is no registration, just show up. Anyone under 18 years cannot participate without a guardian present.

 MOHICAN WINTER FEST • January 11 & 12

Award-winning Aaron Costic and his crew from Elegant Ice Creations is back to make some truly inspired creations from ice. Scroll along Main Street to see over 25 elegant sculptures. A new addition to WinterFest is the Train Expo. Area model railroad enthusiast David Sheaffer has organized the event to showcase the personal collection of area model railroader enthusiast. Refreshment available. Loudonville Fair Event Center is on N. Water St. in downtown Loudonville.

 WINTER HIKE AT MOHICAN STATE PARK • January 13 • 10:00am
Enjoy a 5K or 10K hike along the scenic Clear Fork Gorge. Starts at 10 am in the State Park commissary, at the Park Class A Campground just south of Loudonville on SR 3. The free event includes warm fire, hot soup, cookies and drinks after the hike. Sponsored by Mohican Trails Club and Mohican State Park. Mohican Regional Trail Guides are available at the event, state park offices, and local businesses for only $2 each.

 MOHICAN APPALACHIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL • January 18-20
Enjoy a weekend of down home fun at Mohican State Park Lodge! Festivities begin Friday at 8 pm thru Sunday at 5 pm. Mingle with local vendors displaying their crafts, art and creations. Old time performances start Friday evening with an open stage and play until the cows come home Sunday evening! Country cooking available all day, delicious items such as soup beans, cornbread, and freshly baked pies. Info sessions on Spinning & Weaving Guild & State Park Naturalist. Plan to spend the weekend.
