Saturday - April 14, 2018

This race sells out quickly! The 50k and 25k race will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 . This race will have many hills! If you do not finish the 50k there will be no half way awards. The 50k will begin at 7:30 AM and the 25k will begin at 9:00 AM. Please see race web site for more race information, 50k buckles, race shirts and a meal with a hot shower available. You may also rent a cabin at the race site. Cut Off: The 50k runners have 10 hours to finish. The Covered Bridge will be the last aid station (5.0 to go) and will close at 3:50 PM. You will not be permitted to continue past this time. Over 4800 feet of climb.. Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Mohican Trails Club to help with improving Mohican's trails.

April 16, 7pm, at The Cleo Redd Fisher Museum. Lynne Bury, of the Zimmerman-Bury Octagon House in Doylestown, delves into the fascinating history of the mid-19th century fashion. From hoop skirts to corsets, women's fashion in the 1800s was a complex array of uncomfortable, and occasionally perilous, clothing.

The 17th Annual Mohican Wildlife Weekend is a celebration of wildlife habitat, heritage, and natural history. Choose from nine program sites in Ashland and Richland counties that will offer workshops and demonstrations to engage beginners and experienced naturalists alike. Take hikes with experts into places and views where few visitors get to go. Bring the camera for ample opportunity to capture that perfect nature shot. It is sure to be a fun and educational weekend for kids of all ages. Bring the whole family! Some programs may require registration. *Meet Jack Hanna's Animals- Sat.- 3pm to 4pm- The Columbus Zoo will present a program that will give you the opportunity to get up close and personal to learn about the animals that travel with Jack Hanna. Discover where they're from, what they eat, and possibly touch the birds, reptiles, and a variety of mammals. Bring chairs or blankets for the lawn. -Mill and Cabin Tours- Sat noon to 5 pm, and Sunday noon to 4pm-Come see an 1831 operating grist mill in action. Tour the mill & early 1800's log cabins and get a glimpse of what life was like in pioneer times when Ohio was the new Wild frontier. -Nature Oriented Scavenger Hunt & Kids Activities- Sat noon to 5 pm, and Sunday noon to 4pm- Hike our 3/4 mile loop trail on the ridge above the mill. Gather items at stations along one of Mohican steepest trails. Relax on the overlook deck and take some great pictures from its view point. Then kids turn in your scavenger items in our Welcome Center for a prize. Enjoy additional kids crafts & activities on Sat noon to 5 pm.

April 28-29 - At Wolf Creek Grist Mill, from 12pm -5pm. Hike the steepest trail in the Mohican State Park on this ¾ mile loop trail that follows the ridge above the Mill. Relax with your family on the overlook deck & take in the beautiful views, kids can gather scavenger hunt items along the way then turn in their items at the Welcome Center Cabin to earn a prize! After your hike take advantage of the multitude of free kids nature crafts and activities. Part of Mohican Wildlife Weekend.
